Sometimes, the impact of a Scripture placement is immediate. Other times, years pass before a person understands what they have received—or a long-closed door finally opens.
No matter how God moves, our calling remains the same ... to faithfully share the gospel and trust him with what happens next.
In 2005, a Muslim student named Mohammed received a New Testament when Gideons visited his school in Nigeria. He read it and wanted to understand more, but he found little encouragement.
Eventually, he put the New Testament away, but God's word remained.
Ten years later, Mohammed found the New Testament and began reading it again. This time, faithful neighbors and friends helped explain what he could not understand on his own.
Mohammed asked God to show him the way. In November 2015—10 years after receiving that New Testament—he received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Today, Mohammed faithfully attends his local church in Kwamba.
For more than 10 years, one hotel in Kansas declined to allow Bibles to be placed in its rooms.
Still, local Gideons did not give up.
Last fall, four Gideons returned and prayed for the Lord to open the door to His Word. And just before Christmas, permission was granted. Together, they placed 46 Bibles throughout the hotel.
Then, as the Gideons prepared to leave, the manager and owner asked if they could have pocket New Testaments of their own. The Gideons gladly gave each of them a New Testament and a Bible App card—and offered a personal word of witness.
After more than a decade, the door was open—and the Word was there.
Please join us in thanking the Lord for blessing the fruits of our labors. We are deeply grateful for your generosity!
