Scripture Received, a Heart Opened . . . Thanks to You!

“I want you to know that the work you are doing is truly wonderful and is definitely not in vain. I sincerely hope all of you find happiness in your ministry. Please know I will always be praying for you. Amen!”

Jeong-gwan is a student in South Korea. When he first received a New Testament from a Gideon outside his school, it didn’t seem especially significant. Like many students, he accepted it, took it home, and set it aside.

At the time, it was simply something given to him, a moment of witness of faithful Gideons stepping forward to place God’s Word and share its purpose with students passing by.

A seed was planted. And in time, the significance of that moment became more obvious to Jeong-gwan.

More Than a Book

As Jeong-gwan continued through school, he began facing something many young people experience—fear, pressure, and uncertainty about life.

And in those moments, he remembered the New Testament. He picked it up, opened it, and discovered something he hadn’t expected.

Inside were pages designed to meet him right where he was—the Helps section—speaking directly to fear, worry, and questions about life.

He began reading the passages listed in these pages regularly.

Pray for a Lasting Impact

Jeong-gwan returned to the New Testament again and again—reading, learning, and reflecting on what he found.

Over time, it became something he depended on. So much so that the pages began to wear out.

And when they did, he didn’t set it aside. He repaired it—carefully taping the pages back together so he could keep reading.

That’s the kind of impact God’s Word has—always ready and waiting until the right moments to reach someone.

It started as a simple word of witness and a New Testament placed by a Gideon into a student’s hand, and later, a young man turned to God’s Word in moments of need. That’s how lives are changed.

Through faithfulness . . . a Gideon was there, willing to share, when the opportunity arrived. And because of your support, more of these moments are happening every day. Please continue to pray for Jeong-gwan and all those who have received God’s Word. Pray their hearts would be transformed and that they would come to faith!
