But have you ever wondered—who exactly are Gideons, and why are they so committed to sharing God’s Word?
Gideons are Christian business and professional men, called to win others for the Lord Jesus Christ by strengthening one another, spreading the Gospel, and sharing God’s Word in unique places.
Gideons come from many walks of life—business owners, educators, bankers, doctors, lawyers, sales professionals, and countless others—yet they are united by a shared calling to use their God-given talents to win others for the Lord Jesus Christ.
As they respond to God’s call to join The Gideons, they grow closer to Him and to like-minded brothers in Christ as they serve together. That spiritual growth increases their impact for the Gospel in their homes, workplaces, churches, and throughout their communities.
Gideons and their wives who serve in The Auxiliary encourage and support one another through meaningful fellowship and mutual accountability. Members of The Gideons are challenged in their spiritual growth and encouraged to spend time daily in Bible reading, prayer, and even Scripture memorization. This foundation equips them to naturally share their faith in everyday conversations.
As they grow stronger in their faith, Gideons and Auxiliary utilize resources such as pocket Testaments and the Gideon Bible App to share the Gospel in their daily interactions. By seizing God-ordained opportunities to share His message in the everyday traffic lanes of life, they multiply their impact for Christ.
Gideons expand their reach by sharing copies of God’s Word in places where people are searching for hope, transforming lives in their communities and beyond. With members serving in communities worldwide, The Gideons International is uniquely positioned to share the hope of God’s Word quickly and effectively across some 200 countries, territories, and possessions.
