A Letter From Rebekah

“Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.” —1 Timothy 4:12 (ESV)

For many young people, college is a time when they are making decisions about their life that will impact them for years to come. And no decision will have a greater impact on a student’s life than a decision to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. Which is why members of The Gideons International place such a high priority on distributing God’s Word on college campuses.

The letter below is from a student at the University of Central Arkansas. She received a Scripture in October 2013, and later returned to the site of the distribution to present the Gideons with this letter:

Thank you! I love seeing Bibles in the hands of students all over campus. Thank you for caring about our generation and specifically our college!

I’ve been praying all morning for each person whose hands will be filled with God’s gift because of you! I will continue to pray throughout these next few days as God opens doors to present His love.

Our generation, and each student here on campus, desperately needs God’s love. Most are closed off to it, but because of you, there are doors being opened!

We need revival. The generations before us had worn-out knees because of all their prayers for revival, and they got to see it. I pray that our generation will learn the power of prayer to reach the lost and experience revival.

Thank you for being a small part in God’s work for this campus. I can’t wait to see everything He will do.
