Merry Christmas

On Christmas Eve, 1968, the world watched in awe as a live camera aimed out the Apollo 8 spacecraft window and focused on the moon, while the Apollo astronauts took turns reading aloud from the first chapter of Genesis.

It’s been nearly half a century since that historic broadcast. And while man’s mission to the moon is one of the greatest historical events of all time, the events of that evening can’t begin to compare to God’s mission to the earth in the form of Jesus Christ.

Sharing the Good News of Jesus coming to save the lost is why our members continue to place and distribute God’s Word in hotels, schools, hospitals, and other areas of distribution.

In fact, Service Testaments from The Gideons International were also aboard the Apollo 8 command module. We rejoice that God’s Word not only circled the moon, but it also continues to circle the earth. In the past year, our members shared over 84.8 million Scriptures in over 95 languages and across 200 countries, territories, and possessions.

To all our members, pastors, donors, Friends, and other supporters, thank you for your prayers and support this year. Your faithfulness helps us bring the true joy of Christmas to people throughout the world, all year long.

May you all have a blessed and merry Christmas.
