A New Testament Thats Toured The World For Over 30 Years
Govin received a Gideon-placed New Testament in 1983 when he was 12 years old. His parents were devout members of another faith, so the boy hid the Testament and decided not to read it. After finishing primary school, he received a scholarship to study in Russia where he qualified as a radio physicist. He took the New Testament with him. In Russia he read the New Testament and soon after, Govin gave his life to Christ.
He returned to Mauritius and began to pastor a local church and became a senior lecturer at a local university. Today, he travels to Russia, Africa and throughout Asia regularly, in order to preach. The same little pocket New Testament still tours the world with him after 30 years. Govin is very pleased he has finally met some Gideons. He shared his testimony at a recent Pastors Banquet in Mauritius. He says he knows the verse in Isaiah 55:11 “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void,” was so real for his life, and will continue to be so forever.
