Nigeria has the largest Christian population of any African nation with more than 80 million believers in Christ. There has been dramatic church growth over the last 50 years. Evangelicals have grown from 2.1 million in 1960 to 49 million in 2010. Many churches in Nigeria are partnering with The Gideons to win people to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Faithful Gideons and Auxiliary came together in the Nigerian cities of Lagos and Ibadan for a two-week Scripture outreach event. Gideons began every morning on their knees in prayer to God. They prayed for open doors and open hearts to share the Gospel of Christ. The Lord blessed their prayers as over 700,000 copies of the Word of God were placed during those two weeks. Praise God that He equips Gideons with the boldness to share Christ through acts of service, personal testimony, and the distribution of Scripture.
